Game freezes switch badly without crashing

Trying to use the switch menu to close the game or switch to another game almost always freezes or locks the entire console. Happens on both of my consoles. Tried reinstalling the game and it did not help. Only started having this with the recent update.

I really hope this gets fixed soon because it makes playing the game extremely frustrating.  It's making me reconsider my realms subscription which also has problems with me using the included content. How all these problems got to production is pretty weak.

I couldn't find another bug submitted with this issue. jira is pretty terrible for searching related issues imo so I apologize if this is already raised.
