Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Crashes on Launch

Currently on my Surface Pro X, Minecraft Windows 10 Edition will crash upon loading the main menu while connected to the internet. If launched without an internet connection, the game launches and can be played, however it will crash if I reconnect to the internet.

I cannot replicate this issue on my desktop, and it only began this afternoon (~3PM MDT)

Reinstallation did not help

Further testing suggests that the bug relates to XBL services. If I stay logged out of XBL, the game does not crash. Shortly after authenticating however, the game will crash.

I'm having this issue as well. I also get the dialog "this device is no longer supported".

Can confirm issue is on at least one other Windows on ARM platform. Same issue on a Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS (Snapdragon 850).

I've tried:

  • Application Uninstall/Reinstall

  • Application Reset (inside settings)

  • Windows Recovery - Full Reimage, delete settings, applications, files

and still have the same issue. I'm able to sign into my Microsoft account on first run (after install or Application Reset) but it then closes/crashes to desktop. On subsequent runs the application will crash during the loading splash screen.

@Roy Cameron - For the "no longer supported" issue please see issue MCPE-93371Β and add your vote there.

FWIW I did use the search feature and could not find a similar issue after 3 pages of results. I know it's annoying to open duplicate issues, but JIRA's search often leaves a bit to be desired (And my company uses it too, so I use JIRA daily)

I will add some notes to that issue as the proposed solution there does not work
