In the latest hotfix (1.16.20) my max render distance was 16 chunks. My game could handle 32 chunks without any problems, but it was chopped down to 16 for some reason in 1.8. However, I can finally play with my 32 chunk render distance again. However, 32 chunks isn't my max render distance. For some reason, my max render distance is 128 chunks. If I set my render distance higher than 48 chunks, I notice performance issues, indicating that my PC can't handle that amount of render distance. However, I am able to increase my render distance up to 128 chunks. Again, I don't know if this is intentional, but I'd like for it to be addressed.
