While farming bamboo in my world, I observed that some of the bamboo were growing very tall. So, I tried to place 2 stacks of bamboo manually on grass. It should have stopped at around 16 blocks, but I was able to place all of it. I tried the same in another world in creative mode and the same happened.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open a Creative world
Obtain bamboo
Place the bamboo by holding right click
Observed Results:
Bamboo stops being placed when the bamboo stalk reaches the build limit.
Expected Results:
Bamboo should stop being placed when the bamboo stalk is around 16 blocks tall.

This is a feature. It is possible to place as much bamboo as you want. It is not possible for it to grow that tall tho. What you did was place them so the game won't limit you.
