I was going to blow up tnt in the nether to try and find netherite. I used flint and steel to blow the tnt. It did not work so I used a bed and then the tnt blew up after the bed blew up.(like when tnt blows up other tnt) When I went back to the overworld to find diamonds to repair my gear the tnt blew up with flint and steel. (tnt explodes was on) the first time i tried to light it the topof the block was set on fire. I tried again and it was lit on fire again. It could be because of lag beacuse my kindle is laggy. Kinda like to much lag delays when damage is done

I’ve also tried this on iOS touchscreen and cannot reproduce. I was able to get tnt to be on fire by placing it in lava, but then it lit and blew up within a couple of seconds.
Ok I figured out how to light the top of TNT on fire. If you are aiming at a block next to the space above the TNT, it will be set on fire. If "Fire Spreads" is on in world options, then that fire will trigger the TNT to explode after a few seconds. If "Fire Spreads" is off, then the TNT does not trigger and explode.

Would this explain your experience?
I am not able to reproduce this in 1.16.40 on Windows 10. Are you sure you were close enough to the TNT when you tried to light it? Was there any visible effect at all?
