Since the last realm update, me and my friends can't play together because our realm is a slideshow. I've tried literally everything, including reinstalling the game. I think its from a chunk loading issue.

The same happens to me. Chunks take a long time to generate, sometimes up to 15 seconds and it happens since the last update. The chunks take so long that it seems that I am in spectator mode because I see All the caves below
