Hello
I know that realms have had longstanding issues with lag and stable connections. But recently it seems that the issue has only escalated to new heights.
Before making this report, I ran a few different tests to make sure it wasn't just Addon's, as they are the newest addition in a realm I'm trying to run.
Firstly, i had my friends max out a 10-player realm with me as the 11th, allowing for a true stress test, and it was awful. i had 2 players lag out of the game, (both being last-gen consoles) and other barley able to interact with anything, extreme delays in eating, attacking, seeing movement, placing blocks, etc. Secondly, i started a FRESH world, no addons, no changes, nothing, pure survival. still had the exact same issues.
after these stress test, we ran a limit test, to see when major lag or issues would start appearing, in the Addon Realm, the effects started appearing as soon as 3 players where online, with the tipping point of unplayable being 5, where it was almost impossible to do things without being behind the world by at least 5 to 10 seconds. This was also the case on the fresh world.
This makes me wonder if the realm was placed on a 2-player server somehow? as it would explain a lot of what I'm seeing here, since i would imagine different hardware is used for the different sizes. Mainly because this is the first time i have seen lag this bad, unless i was trying to make it.

The same problem I have been dealing with last month; my Villagers are just being moved randomly to roofs by the time the chunk loads.
I have this issue too it’s too laggy and keeps crashing people, we pay so much for a bad service. Even the mods we pay for it can’t handle it at all.
I have the feeling that there is a memory problem with the realms right now. It feels like the realms are fine when you first open them and then they get slower and slower over time (more people make it worse) to the point where it almost becomes unplayable.
I have 3 realms right now and all get pretty slow at some point.
Our Bedrock Realm has an issue where it is seemingly causing it to grind to a halt. It is very nearly 6 years old now.
We are experiencing really bad lag within the realm making some areas almost unplayable.
Now normally issues like this is caused by having too much red stone and entities in close proximity to another, which is nothing new. However, the problem with our world is that it is all over the place, whether you are in a built up area or in an area untouched. Red stone/entities/render distances are only exacerbating the issue rather than causing it.

There are some examples in that folder.
Again, we thought it might be a Realm issue, but if I play the world offline , the problem is there, just not as bad.
It has only been this bad since the Pale Garden update. There were no issues before that. Just your usual slow down in heavy farm areas.
We have gone back to an older save from September when we know it was perfect, but again, the problem is there worldwide but just not as bad as our most recent save…..and I’m sure after a while it will go the same way where areas become unplayable and everywhere is else is a lag fest. Time where everything seems ‘ok’ there is still something ‘off’ about how everything feels.
Minecraft Realms can sometimes be laggy, like every other server hosting service. Please wait for your chunks to load before going into them. This, to my knowledge, is not a bug but instead is a Mojang server issue.
We have the exact same Problem after just getting a Bedrock Realm for the first time this december.
When a third person joins, the lag starts (delay in mining, placing blocks and eating food). With 4 its really strong and in my opinion already unplayable (or at least not fun).
At first we thought its our addons, but the server has the same problems on a fresh clean world without any addons or buildings.
Also its server sided lag that everyone feels.
How the hell are 10 players supposed to play on the server when its unplayable with 4? I mean even 3 already have noticeable delay.
Did you find a solution so far?
