"An error occurred" trying to download backup of realm.

Whenever I try to download a backup of my realm, it just doesn’t let me. I’ve tried removing all addons, restarting my router, hardwire connection, getting rid of the firewall on both PC and router gateway, enabling MoCa, ran speed tests I’m getting at least 200mbps download and 20mbps upload and I’m not really using a high-def texture pack so that should be plenty, use vpn on my phone which makes the game unplayable and can’t even get to the realm menu it’s so unresponsive. And I am not going to pay $80 for a year of vpn I’m going to use once if it works. I shouldn’t have to shell out a bunch of cash to use a feature I’m already paying for.

I would like to note that a few days ago I turned on my hotspot on my phone and connected my pc and I was able to download a backup, but it didn’t work after that.

I know it’s not an internet issue because I have the same account on my phone and I disconnected from wifi and was just using data and it still gives me the same message. I know for sure the data on my phone is good enough. I recently got back into Minecraft and never had this problem before. I have spent the last 3 hours scouring the internet for answers, trial and error to no avail.

One of the main perks to having a realm is those backups. It’s a great safety net incase the world gets corrupted but only so many are made and if one of my realm mates or me accidentally steps into a corrupted world the backups only make so many, and there’s a chance we’ll just lose the world.

I’ve seen people with similar issues as far back as 2019. I do not know what causes it, but it is most definitely the fault of the realm itself.
