Block disappearing after placing block from inventory.

So I am writing you today to report a bug. For some reason my blocks are deleting themselves from the world after I place some down after a creeper to fix things. I can lay one at a time and they won't be deleted, but if I start placing and move backwards to set multiple block they start deleting and are not going back in my inventory. So first thought it was mods I was using so I started a basic new world same thing without mods. No big deal maybe maintenance was going on. So I decided to go to a single player world because I figured maybe its something with the internet. Called the cable company, no issue on there end. So as I'm jumping into a single player world with no mods added, I start placing block with the same process and they are deleting as well so not sure what going on???
