Cannot join split screen Realm on Xbox

My son logged into Minecraft and entered our Realm. My wife tried to login and as it was loading it switched to a full screen error stating “cannot join world the account you are signed in to is currently playing in this world on a different device.” She is not on another device and has never played on another device.

This is on our “home" Xbox for my Xbox Game Pass Core. I therefore tried to login first, but neither could login second, both receiving the same error. I also tried logging in second with the same error, so it is not specific to whether the Game Pass owner is first player.

They then joined a local world and could both play with no issues.

Environment

Xbox Series X. Local multiplayer split screen joining a Realm we own.

I am also experiencing this issue since signing in today. We can each sign into our minecraft realm separately, but not split screen 😢

I have the exact same issue.

This is depressing. Same issue here. It just shows disconnected from server any time I try to split screen on my Xbox series x system.

This is not a duplicate. MCPE-222048 is a different issue. It is unclear if they are related on the backend, but the behavior is different on our Xbox. The current issue prevents a second account from joining split screen on a realm at all. It throws the error and causes first player to leave the realm and being completely unable to play together. The 222048 bug is related to assigning the second player as guest (it seems on a local world) but they can still play.
