Throughout the past several years I have on and off purchased a realms subscription in an attempt to backup my long-term survival world onto devices other than my PS4. Throughout the years I have had the same issue Every. Single. Time. I try to upload my world. Minecraft attempts to unpack it, completes a random amount of the process and then the error “"We couldn't pack your world file for upload. Maybe your hard drive is full." The thing is, my hard drive is no where near full, nor is my Minecraft storage space.
I’ve tried several different ways of fixing the issue over the years, waiting for new updates, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, signing in and out of my Microsoft account, debuilding the PS4’s database (defragging), and most recently I finally upgraded to SSD to see if the faster speed would help, spoiler, it didn’t.
The crazy thing is, I cannot upload any world. It doesn’t matter the size, it doesn’t matter the playtime, or how old it is, even brand new worlds. I simply cannot upload a single world and this has persisted for at least four years. When I attempted to upload my long-term survival again today it got corrupted (thankfully I have backups). All I want is to upload to realms like anyone would expect to be able to do, but all I get is the same error and frustration. :(
At this point the only thing that I think could be causing issues is that I have Minecraft Playstation 4 Edition as I purchased the game in 2017 before Bedrock edition came to PS4. However, I don’t feel like this could even cause this issue and I cannot find anyone else with the legacy edition that has the same problem.
