REALMS-13735

Normal numbers (e.g., “2100”, “458”) intermittently replaced with #### on signs despite safety settings disabled

Summary

On my Bedrock Realm, normal numeric text such as “2100” or “458” will intermittently appear normally when the sign is placed, but within 1-3 seconds the text is replaced entirely with pound signs (####).

This only happens on Realms.

In singleplayer/local worlds, the exact same text displays correctly and is never altered.

My account is an adult account and the profanity filter is disabled.

No inappropriate content is present — only building and/or room/suite numbers used for labeling buildings in a city environment.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Join a Realms server on Bedrock 1.21.130

  2. Place a sign

  3. Enter a number such as 2100 or 458 (the issue may not occur every time due to its intermittent nature)

  4. Confirm the sign/close the text dialogue

  5. Within a few seconds, observe the text change to #### (intermittently)

Expected Result

Text remains unchanged.

Actual Result

Text is replaced with #### intermittently.

Environment

Platform: Bedrock Edition (Windows 11)
Realm Type: Bedrock Realm (Server-side behavior)
Issue does not reproduce in local/singleplayer worlds
