As I said after restoring a previous backup of my Realm the world became unplayable, no more mobs spawn, blocks can't be mined, Day and night cycle where no more, for the record I have NEVER activated cheats in my Realm. After checking the options I realized all of the settings where turned off... and I can't turn on a lot of those settings again, since it says I'll lose my achievements if I do that, I tried restoring another backup then another one but the problem with the backups persisted, looks like it's a problem with Realms, because when I downloaded a world it functioned with no problems at all and no settings where out of place. This problem is only happening when a backup is restored.

Question; are tiles (items) also not dropping? If you kill a chicken, will it drop meat and feathers (XP if survival?)
I’m assuming that since you’ve had this realm for the last couple of years the size of the save file is maybe a little (or a lot) larger than 300mb. From my reading, REALMS can have a hard time with larger save files. You may need to reset the REALM to get this unstuck.
This happened to me the other day and it was beyond frustrating. However, at the cost of a little sanity, I was able to fix it without turning cheats on. Here is what I did to resolve - Proceed with care and caution.
Download a local copy of your REALMS save file.
Minecraft > REALMS > Your REALM > Settings > Manage REALM > Saves > Manual/Automatic > Select Save > Download Save.
Once downloaded, open the local file and play solo. I noticed that the same issues persisted with the local copy. Maybe you will too.
Settings > General: Check to see if “Enable Game Pause” is active. If yes, turn it off.
Settings > Game > World Options: Toggle all options once and then reset them to your preference. For me, the problems were towards the bottom. Mob Loot through Beds Work, but yours can be a little different.
!!! Make sure you don’t activate any Experiments or Cheats. I did not need to go down that far. I was able to unlock my game with only toggling the options Friendly Fire to Immediate Re-spawn.
Once the settings are saved, return to the local game and stare at the sun. Mine was stuck at about 11 o’clock. I noticed immediately that the sun was ticking as it should. I killed a chicken and it dropped my XP, meat and feathers.
Last, check the achievements portal to ensure your world is still intact.
If you’re still tracking and everything has worked up to this point, now proceed to editing the REALM itself. I had to delete all my slots to proceed - so make sure the previous local save file is stored safely.
Minecraft > REALMS: Select your REALM.
Selected REALM > Settings (Edit “ {REALM}
”): Select your slot (or slots).
Slot > Game Settings: Upload World (at the bottom).
Select your local safe file and upload (could take a moment).
Once uploaded, activate slot and proceed to playing on REALM.
Hopefully, this helps unblock you. Some gotchas listed below.
I noticed the issue on my Switch and the proceeded to see if the issue persisted on my phone (it did). However, I also attempted to do the following on these devices as well. I got stuck with multiple game crashes after downloading (IMO) the corrupted REALM safe file. I had to resolve this issue on my PC.
If you have multiple slots in your REALM, make sure to backup and delete those as well.
Make sure all copies of the game are using the latest (or same version of the game). Uninstall and reinstall if you have to.
I do not have any resource and behavior packs, but others mentioned the need to turn these off and remove them from the REALM (if possible).
In a few other tickets, some have mentioned that you may need to upload the safe file “multiple times” though this was not my experience.
I wish you all the best and good luck!
I appreciate the answer but it's not a solution, and well my local copy was perfect when y checked it, I didn’t have to change anything, the problem happened when the backup was restored. I apologize since your answer makes sense, because we would be uploading a New copy of our realm and editing it, but what about people who doesn't have this information? Will Mojang make a tutorial so every adult or kid who has encountered this problem can save their realm? What about people who's english is not their first language? They won't know what's happening.
Thank you for your time and answer but unless Mojang addresses the issue there won't be a solution just a bandaid that eventually will be broken again since it looks like this problem has to do with the Realm save size as you mentioned, thanks again but it’s not resolved yet, not because of me, but for all the others who aren’t aware of this issue.
I am also experiencing this issue after a recent backup, very frustrating to deal with especially while trying to rework a villager farming setup. Hopefully support can resolve this soon!
