REALMS-14490

PS5 Bedrock Realm upload fails after complete upload.

The world exports successfully and uploads completely (a little over 400 MB today). After the upload finishes, the game waits briefly and then displays "An error occurred." The world is never uploaded to the Realm. I’ve tried:

  • Tested on multiple internet connections.

    • Home upload: approximately 6 Mbps

    • Friend's upload: approximately 30 Mbps

  • Same behavior on both connections.

  • Upload speed during the Realm upload remains around 0.1 MB/s regardless of internet speed.

  • Created a brand-new 10-player Realm from Windows Bedrock.

  • Successfully uploaded and replaced Realm worlds from Windows.

  • PS5 still cannot upload the same world.

  • Signed into the same Microsoft account on both platforms.

  • Restarted the PS5.

  • Moved Minecraft from external storage back to internal storage.

  • Verified the world opens and plays normally on PS5.

The issue appears only on PS5. Windows Bedrock can access and replace Realm worlds without any problems.

Because the world successfully exports and uploads the full file before failing, this appears to be a PS5-specific Realm upload issue rather than a corrupted world.

The main reason I need to get this world into Realms is because my friend's and I's two-week Minecraft phase lasted a whole lot longer than we anticipated, and we've built amazing things that we want to continue. And they're at the mercy of me being on the world for them to play. I really need to make this world a realm.

I would appreciate any assistance or confirmation that this is a known issue.

Environment

Platform: PlayStation 5, Minecraft Version: Bedrock 1.26.33 (PS5), Realm Type: 10-player Realm, Microsoft Account: Same account used on both PS5 and Windows Bedrock

I have had this issue for years now. Ever since I switched to PlayStation. Every update I try to see if it’s fixed and it’s not. From the research I’ve done it seems having a world over a certain amount of data (I think 2gb but I don’t remember exactly) is the reason. It’s very frustrating.

Exactly the same issue here in Android Minecraft Pocket Edition. The world I’m trying to upload is about 300MB, the world exports successfully and uploads completely, but then get the unspecific error message prompting me to “try again later”.
