Eating food will sometimes not replenish the hunger bar nor will it reduce the quantity of the food item being ate. basically nothing happens except an infinite (if the eat button is held) eating animation

We're actually already tracking this issue under MCPE-55263 so I've requested this report be resolved and linked as a duplicate.
