I mined for 2 hours and when I logged in all the items gathered had vanished, also a full armour stand. Chest Items were in was still there.

Tied a mule with a full chest to fence post, went in building, logged out ..... returned later that evening, fence post was there with lead rope knot but no lead rope or mule ...... lost up to 12 items of very important items that I use for map making and exploring ...
Also leading a mule while climbing and going round a corner caused mule to enter mountain, it squealed, back tracked to free it, tried again same thing happened but died before I could save it.....
