Music seems to play fine, but am not getting the sounds of walking, eating, riding a horse, mobs walking toward me (which can be distressing ; ) ), shooting my bow and such as that in game. Strangely I do get sounds like opening and closing doors. Sometimes I get mining sounds too.
I have checked my Blizzard Games and Steam Games plus work item's like Microsoft products and audio in all of the them works normally across the board.
