Can confirm that restarting, logging in and out, and reinstalling a fresh game version does not fix this issue.

I have the same issue, when trying to connect to a server, even with a unmodded client, i'm receiving invalid session id. Tried to remove the json cache files, logging out, Closing reopening launcher. nothing seems to help. Friends of me report the same issue. Seems there is something wrong with the auth servers.
now 11:20:00 21/08 it works again...

I can concur that this is suddenly an issue. 'Invalid Sesson ID' and 'Please restart Minecraft'
Followed all the troubleshooting guidance I could find so far but to no avail.

i have uninstalled and re installed minecraft twice and still have this issue. i also have logged out and back in and I don't use any mods.
