I'm on Nintendo Switch.
After the last update - I have been unable to get onto realms. It's been about two weeks and continuing, at this point.
Locally, minecraft locks up and the loading bar keeps bouncing back and forth. When I go to the Switch Dash and close it out that way - this message appears: "the softwear was closed because an error occurred".
In the server section it only reads "coming soon". What?
Marketplace doesn't load.
I'm not at all happy because I paid for realms sub and now the game basically doesn't work on switch (for which exclusively play on). I loaded up MC on my phone, works. Booted up on PC, works. What's the deal with Switch?!
Please.... Please fix!

I have the exact same issue. I can add friends, but they never show up in the Friends tab. I can often get into the realm, but sometimes there's a 30 second or more delay when blocks render the changes the physics understands as the current world state. When in these laggy situations, opening my inventory will take a minute or more. The character screen shows loading bars and takes over a minute to load. Sometimes rebooting the system fixes it, but only for an hour or so. If I ever try to close the app from the Switch dashboard, the app says it's crashed after a minute.
I have been experiencing this on the Nintendo Switch as well 1.16.201
The only thing that gets things working is:
1. Archive game
2. Redownload Game
3. Move game from SD card to internal storage
This will get it working for maybe 1-3 days before i have to do it again.
I have 15GB of free storage space internally and 70GB on the SD card.
There is definitely some sort of temporary file issue with Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch in 1.16.xxx, as well as some sort of oddity with accessing (or writing) files simultaneously on both internal and external (SD card) storage.
I agree with you all, even xbox players on our realm are getting this issue now! So annoying 😞
Both my switch and my wife’s have this issue. Wish this would get acknowledged.
25 minutes trying to get on the realm today and I have not decided to play another game. I am a dedicated Minecraft fan but I have started to have enough of this. Today an update was put out about placing your the exact part of a chunk boarder but nothing about the horrible switch issues.
