This issue is being caused by a server outage which appears to be affecting both Java and Bedrock edition realms: https://twitter.com/mojangstatus/status/1382728826116005888

I'm having this same issue. Worked just fine up until some time between 5pm and 8pm EST yesterday, ever since then I get this same error.
