Getting out of a boat will sometimes make it disappear for the player that was riding it. Traveling out of simulation distance, then traveling back to where the boat should be allows the original rider to see/interact with the boat again.
We just started a new world for 1.18, and people are losing their boats. This is frustrating and can be dangerous depending on where the player is. Also I have noticed a few boats around already that appear to be abandoned since the player was unable to break or re-enter they're boats. If a player doesn't have multiple boats, and they stop a at small island to sleep, they can't find their boat or make a new one, so they are stuck swimming.

Playing on Realm and same issue for over a week now. EVERY time I use the boat and exit it...bye bye boat. Some times better if you look at the boat before exiting boat....'50:50' fix...sometimes when you go far enough away it'll reappear when you get back to where you left it.....or log out and back in - boat appears, until you use it again. So far, issue I noticed that this issue is always marked as resolved. ITS NOT!! This is the most annoying bug in the game. Go boating, bye boat. Have to log out and in and "hi" boat. Please fix....aaaannnnoying bug. K, I think I figured it out a bit. I had an active resource pack on from the microsoft marketplace REALCW.. i activated the texture update pack Beta by Minecraft as well and so far, so good...boat not disappearing. Most likely a draw issue or video issue...but without it activated...boat disappears...but not all the textures from the REALCW pack are functional with it activated...wood texture doesn't use the REALCW texture..uses the one from the update beta pack instead..same as some dirt and cobble etc...so why buy packs, when it messes up the boats and others.
