If you go to minecraft.net, you will be transported to https://www.minecraft.net/zh-hans/ , the Chinese webpage. You cannot change the language from there.

I also have this issue, even going to the bottom of the page to change it does not work
edit: Logged into a different browser and changed the language and it sync'd to the one im using now.

You can change your language by clicking on the globe at the bottom of the page.
