silentwisperer is unable to log into the bug tracker. The site asks for 2fa but he never set it up

Silentwisperer, of the youtube channel of the same name (bugrock of the week videos in particular) has been unable to log into his account to report or comment on any bugs since mid december.  Chatting with him on discord (server owner Silent Syndicate) he states that after entering his password it asks for a 2fa code.  He never set up 2fa on that account.  He also states that emailing has yielded no results as well.

The making of this bug report is a last ditch effort for Silent to get access to bug tracker again.  Identity verification and character assessment can be carried out by a mod on discord and the resultant data passed to a risk assessment team for further action.

I hope this is read by an actual human before being deleted by a bot.

Can you give me Discord Link? So I can help him.

If I understand correctly, Two-Factor Authentication is not a choice here currently. Its a requirement.

After entering his password he gets the token page without having set that up.  How will he get help from another discord server?

This is no bug. Support will help with the login process.

I'm proposing resetting the 2fa so Silent can set it up.  Was this account used as a test and somebody forgot to reset it?  You even have one of Silent's videos pinned on your discord about how to write a good bug report, yet he can't log in to submit any reports or comment since Mid December.  Silent and others that submit bug reports to this site are essentially tangential freelance employees.  I understand that 2fa was added for an additional layer of protection to the Mojang workflow.  That is why I'm proposing a reset of the 2fa, not its complete removal.

This happened on my bubbadoodah account for bugs.mojang.com. Someone logged into my account and enabled 2FA. Very funny! I had to setup a new account, because I did not have the correct tokens for my previous account. Not cool whoever did this.

Just some extra information for y'all:
1) Backup codes are provided when setting up 2FA - you should keep them in a safe place so that you can restore access to your account if you lose your 2FA token
2) 2FA is no longer mandatory on Mojira

As has been said, 2FA is no longer a requirement.

If you no longer have access to your account, consider contacting Mojang Support to recover it.
