I am instructed to contact Microsoft support. There is no link to contact Microsoft support, so I go to "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page (found via ctrl+F). The "Contact Us" link brings me to a page under help.minecraft.net

This does not assist me in finding Microsoft support. Neither suggestions nor fan mail apply to my situation of being unable to complete this transaction. However, the "[...] official Minecraft feedback site" link seems like the most appropriate place to give feedback regarding the website being unable to process my payment. This brings me to feedback.microsoft.net

On the official Minecraft feedback site, there's a large button reading "Report Bugs", which brings me to bugs.mojang.com.

In all, the user flow I experienced while attempting to resolve the minecraft.net website being unable to process my payment:

  1. https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/gift/minecraft-java-bedrock-edition-pc?region=sg

  2. https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4408904068621-Feedback-and-Fan-Mail

  3. https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us

  4. https://bugs.mojang.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa

Since the user flow from the error passes through multiple domains, I have tagged this bug with each component involved in the user flow.

I'll get back to this issue if I have the same issue on a Chromium-based browser.

I am convinced that this is either not caused by user error, or that the error information is too opaque to allow a user to find and remedy the error.

I have had this error for multiple months, it didn't use to happen when the gift feature was new.

This happens on certain regions, in my case it's Egypt.

Still appears to be an issue to this date. Friend of mine tries to buy the Java & Bedrock edition bundle for €30 but keeps getting an error when checking out with a verified working payment option that’s also used for Microsoft 365. Tried to purchase as a gift on my own account, same result. I already have a license for the game on my own account.
My account also has verified active payment options.
