After redeeming the new capes, sometimes they do not appear available to equip in the launcher for Java Edition until launching Bedrock Edition and equipping the cape there first. We have had numerous people come to Minecraft Community Support with this issue, and so far the remedy has been completely successful to my knowledge. This issue has also been reported semi-widely across Reddit, and the Bedrock Edition fix seems to work there also.
Steps to Reproduce:
Get a Cape redeem code via an available method (i.e. TikTok)
Redeem at minecraft.net/redeem (Image)
Attempt to equip cape from launcher; it does not appear as an option (Image)
Open Bedrock Edition and equip the cape
Restart the launcher
Verify that the cape is now visible in the Java Skin Selection page (Image)

This should be fixed immediately, they don’t even show up on the website, I think this is due to poor coding, maintaining.
It is super annoying, especially when most of Minecraft’s playerbase is on java.

But it seems like complete nonsense, because the Java and Bedrock Editions support different platforms, so there are Java players who literally don't have any official way to run Bedrock on their systems. This leaves only unofficial methods, such as community attempts to run Bedrock Edition on unsupported platforms or finding ways to run it somewhere on a supported platform (such as through virtualization), or forced to install such platform on their machines.
This shouldn't have existed in the first place, it literally contradicts itself. Capes should be added to both versions of the game during the redeem process instead of requiring impossible additional steps.
I run minecraft on arch linux with the prism launcher and I am not going to download a VM just to run bedrock. This is complete nonsense !
i got mcpe first than mc jave edtion next but i didnt get my vanilla cape the java and bedrock cpae.you know the one where you have to have mc java and mcpe to get the cape i didnt get it in mcpe nor java.pls help.its pisses me off .please add the vanilla cape into my account.
