For me it started in 1.18-pre2 so maybe something to do with java 17.

I have had the same problem since 1.18-pre2. In the main menu click on singleplayer there is a 2-second delay until it continues to the next menu. Another example is if I create a new world go to rename it type the number 2 it doesn't show up till about 2-seconds later on the screen. This happens with clicking anything in the main menu. I have 4 worlds in my save folder My specs are i7-8700k cpu, gtx 1080ti gpu. Windows 10 Home. HDD
