I haven't posted on this ticket for a while, but I've noticed a few things lately. FYI I'm on PS4.
First, if you're getting a message like "Could not package the world, maybe you're out of space?" (I'm not on it now, but it's something like that), deleting the game - not your save data obviously, just the game - and re-installing seems to get rid of that error.
The error I run into is "An error occurred", but every time I see that, it actually did upload. The only time I can't get it to upload is with the first not-enough-space error.
As a follow-up, I have one cleric and many librarians, and the cleric did keep the 1 emerald for 1 exp bottle trade. Not sure if that helps as the sample size is pretty askew between the two types. Since I'll be replacing the librarians anyways, I'll update this ticket with any meaningful updates if I come across any.
Until then, I have a lot of librarians to "take care of" 😬
FYI, that 10 emeralds for 1 nametag villager did remain at master level, but every other one went back to novice. Every one of them changed their trades though, and only 1 of 12 had no trading exp and could have their trades reset by replacing their workstation.
It would have been less of a slap in the face if they all just vanished, instead of them changing to having garbage trades that I can't fix without first removing and then replacing them.
This has happened both times I've tried this on my realm. The first time I thought was user error, but the last time I set the pearl in statis, went to the nether, logged out, and when I logged back in and came back to the overworld it was gone again.
I'm wondering if Minecraft only has a very limited amount of storage space that it can work with, regardless of how much space is actually free on the console. I have over 200 GB free on my PS4, but when I try to download a textures pack I just bought from the store, it says:
-Not Enough Space - 56 MB-
You do not have enough space available on your "Playstation 4" system to download the Modern Textures HD.
If it's true that the game only has access to a certain amount of storage, that might relate to the "Maybe your hard drive is full" message related to this ticket...?
Either way, I now know not to spend any money in the store for the foreseeable future!
UPDATE: Deleting and re-downloading Minecraft solved both the issues, I was able to download the texture pack, then tried replacing my Realm and that worked as well. I did notice that the game was just over 20 GB when I went to download it and was considerably less than that when downloading it again, so I think maybe it does keep using up its own memory until it runs out - even though the worlds are stored separately for the main game data (I'm pretty sure?)
Seems like the same issue as REALMS-474, and that's been open since 2017 😬
I thought I had commented again on this but can't see my comment now. Anyways, the issue is back on my end again, preventing the replacement of my realm after about 6 weeks of it working. Currently running v1.17.2 on PS4.
OK, so I'm still on v1.16.221 (PS4), and decided to try to upload my local world to my realm again today. The export worked fine, it hung on the upload then said "An Error Occured" (as it always does for me), but it actually worked and my realm was updated. Again, still on the same version, no updates were downloaded, and if anything I have more disk space used up on my system... 🤷♂️
As a follow-up, I uploaded all my local worlds to PS Plus online storage, deleted all of them from my PS4 except the one I'm trying to replace my realm with (184.1 MB), and even then, I get the "We couldn't pack your world file for upload. Maybe your hard drive is full?" message. So yeah, definitely seems like a bug.
Same here, I can't replace my realm with any of my local worlds. Tons of free space on my PS4 HD, so I assume the game just can't access any of the systems disk space or something.
The size of the world also doesn't seem to matter either, trying to replace the realm with a 30MB or a 360MB one results in the same message. I can use backups still, but those are only versions of the current realm itself obviously.
PS4 / v1.16.221
Occasionally, items won’t stack either.
I’ve found that when you let go, you have to then select the tile in the chest/container of where to drop it.
More of the same as what others are posting, but here's what happened to me, with it just happening again today.
I have a portal a few hundred blocks away from spawn in the overworld, so the matching portal in the nether is less than a hundred blocks away.
Going into the nether seems to be fine for me - however, when I go back through the nether portal to get to the overworld, it gets stuck on Generating Terrain, as others have mentioned.
After manually quitting, restarting the game, and going back into that world, I do appear in the overworld, but in the same coordinates as where the portal is in the nether, so the 8/1 conversion isn't happening. This has happened 3 times already, even with different nether portals, so I now always have my pick ready as my OW spawn area is basically one big mountain range 🙂
Bedrock version: 1.19.41
PS4 version: 10.01
Update: I just loaded up the world again, and saw a message saying "Updating (some_massive_number) of 1 Packs", which then switched to "Updating 1 of 1 Packs". After a while, the world loaded up, so I went into the nether portal close to OW spawn, got to the nether OK, turned around and went back through, and DID end up where I should have - i.e. the 8/1 conversion worked, and it didn't freeze on Building Terrain. Obviously, I have no idea if time in the nether matters to make this issue occur, but thought I should share this. FYI I have no idea what Pack was being referenced when it said it was updating.
