If you have a mac and you are experiencing this problem then go to terminal and type in:
sudo nano /etc/hosts
This should command lets you edit the hosts files on you computer. __ After doing so, go to the line it says mojang and then press Control K, this should erase the line. Do this to any other line with Mojang in it. After you are done, press Control X to save and exit terminal. The launcher should work fine now 🙂
