I think they're supposed to do something similar around players in boats but what's happening right now is ridiculous, they move so fast they just go off the world and de-load themselves if the ocean is big enough. It's pretty funny to watch though, makes no sense.
Happening in 1.13 pre-8.
Seems the damage dealt is the highest of the two damages (bow versus damage of potion effect), meaning with harming I or II on a fully charged shot will deal bow damage, but a nearly no charged shot will deal the harming potion damage (since the arrow damage is now much lower than harming I or II). This makes it weird on armoured targets, since the bow damage gets mitigated but the potion effect doesn't, so fully charged harming II shots deal less damage than a shot with no charge (tested with a friend in diamond armour).
I did search for other bugs before posting this report and found the one that this was marked as duplicate, but at first I thought the issue was a little different because of the the diamond armour part and that I thought they were stacking. I was wrong with the info at the top, they aren't stacking (it was probably the damage randomness that messed me up there).
Ah sorry for posting a duplicate, I was searching to see if there were any other reports about this but found none.
Yes I have tested just using /tp, and it worked fine, only happens when walking into end gateways. I'm thinking of making my end gateways useless and then putting a repeating tp command in that teleports you when you step into the gateway to get around this.
Can still reproduce in 1.18. My ticket of this is duplicate I guess but has a few more details, such as stating this doesn't happen when loading chunks, only reloading world. Should I paste description into comments here if it is to be marked as duplicate and this one updated to 1.18?
