I am having this exact same issue. I just played the game 12 hours ago, even though I was having this load issue intermittently. Now, skins will not load in any form on any screen. This is a massive bug that prevents people from playing the game at all. Mojang, do not release "updates with bug fixes" if you are going to create game-breaking bugs that make it unplayable.
