The issue persists in the latest stable build 1.21.81. Simply turning off any sort of connectivity before opening the game causes the issue to occur.
I have tried turning off Wi-Fi, turning on Airplane Mode while Wi-Fi is off, signing out of my Microsoft account within the game before turning off connectivity and all of which lead to the bug still occurring. This happens on both of my iOS devices (iPad Pro 2018 and iPhone 12) but I don’t have any other device to test this on, so I’m unaware of the status of this on other Bedrock platforms.

To reproduce the issue, I’ve found that just turning off your system’s Wi-Fi before launching the game causes the issue to occur.
