Can confirm this as well. I had a portal set up at about x = 1080, Z = -2100 and instead of teleporting me at my Nether hub it sent me to that exact coordinate. No Nether Portal behind me in the middle of a Nether Fortress. Tried to return back to my hub and ended up dying in the process with all my gear.
