I have also just experienced this phenomenon. Playing PlayStation version 2.21 bedrock, I opened my world in the ocean in a boat after recently exploring a different part of my world about 4000 blocks away from where I had my home. Went back through the portal I had came through previously and it brought me to my overworld coordinates inside the nether, approximately 26,000 blocks away in the overworld from my bed. Most likely going to avoid the nether for the time being but just letting you know it’s happened to more than one person
