Anytime there are two water source blocks with a space in between (Either diagonally or horizontally) they will create a source block between them. This is normal operation. You need to increase the distance between your source blocks to more than one open space. In this instance any block that can become waterlogged would be considered an open space. Hope this helps 🙂

I know it should be a separate issue, but I found that Minecraft has been creating giant log files in excess of 5gb which has been eating up space and apparently causing this issue.

1.13 Pre 5: Returning to a tiny island I had previously placed torches on and there's an area that shows a light level of 0 when a torch is very near (just across a chunk border). There's anther torch a few blocks farther away one level lower than the 0 light surface that's in the same chunk and it's not producing light in the area

We have two computers each with their own Minecraft account. One is able to start a new world as of today but the other is not. Both had the same problem as described yesterday and both are now on Pre5. One of them can create a world now but the other appears to still have the same problem. I'm currently in the middle of formatting the other PC with a fresh windows install (unrelated) and we'll see if it continues to have problems.
