Yes I opened it in 1.7.10 after I started it in the latest snapshot. This has happened to all of my worlds now. I opened them in 1.8 to test this bug, and then opened them in 1.7.10 and everything was gone.

This just recently happened to me as of July 28, 2014. I was playing in the 1.8 snapshot 14w30c, and later I switched to 1.7.10 because I wanted to play with some friends. Later that day, I was bored so I decided to play my single world that was in 14w30c and right as I logged in every item I had vanished. I tried resetting and re-logging numerous times, but it didn't change the outcome of the glitch. Please have this bug fixed immediately Mojang. I recently gained interest again in Minecraft with the new update coming out and now everything I just worked for is gone. :/
