I just had the exact same thing happen on Windows 7. I suspect maybe it has to do with radeon video cards?

yes, with a 20% chance. So if I'm seeing several of those and not one wither skeleton, something seems buggy.
The other user who reported this bug did. I have not personally done so, however.
I'm getting regular skeletons but not wither skeletons. Shouldn't it be all or nothing?
Just reproduced again on the windows 7 box. Will update
