Okay, so i just destroyed a crop and the villager replanted it and destroyed a few other crops and then replanted them. Now he is doing nothing again. I am pretty sure this is intentional and not a bug. EDIT: I have tested it more and it seems like it is a bug.
Just tried doing it on the Nintendo Switch bedrock and the villager was replanting the potatoes for about two minutes and then just stopped. I thought it was because it was getting dark so I quickly changed the time to day. It didn't do anything. Now the farmer just walks around the field not planting or destroying the potatoes. I will see if it is the same thing for carrots and other crops in a few minutes.
I think you should stop being impatient man. They are not robots working 24 hours a day. Please don't disrespect helpers and moderators, they are only trying to help. And they are not just helping you, they have to deal with tons of bugs everyday. Also, I am going to test it too on my Nintendo Switch. I might try windows 10 too (the operating system you apparently used). Also, have you tried the newest update 1.5.3? Maybe that has fixed it.
I suggest calling your Internet Service Provider on the issue or checking your internet settings which you can get by going on cmd (Command Prompt) on a PC and typing 'ipconfig' (don't type the quotation marks) then find the section which says your default gateway. Copy the numbers onto your internet browser (do not try to search it on a search engine) then it should come up with a login screen. The username should be admin (no uppercase letters) and the password should either be admin (no lowercase) or password (also no lower case). Then check all the settings to see if things are working as they should then test minecraft multiplayer.
This is a bug. I know this as for some strange reason when you have no light sources nearby (for example, torches) the villager will replant a few crops then stop completely. Then, if you destroy a crop the villager will replant and destroy some other crops which need harvesting and then replant them. However, after about ten seconds the villager stops what he is doing then just walks around the edge of the in closed area, staring at you 60% of the time (that is an estimate). If you then place torches or any kind of light source around the area and then destroy a crop, the villager will replant ALL** the crops which need harvesting for about 3 or 4 minutes, then just stops what he is doing forever. The only way for you to get the farmer to harvest from then on is to destroy a crop and then the villager will replant it and destroy at the most a few other crops around it that need harvesting. After that, the villager still does nothing. The farmer is obviously glitched and might need fixing on the AI. I tested this on 1.5.3 on a Nintendo Switch, on one of my creative worlds. Sorry I can't get any screenshots as I don't have a MicroSD card or any social media account linked to my Switch. This took me about 40 minutes to test. Hope this helps! 🙂 P.S. From tommorow until a week after I can't respond to any replies you send me as I won't have access to my laptop.
