Same here as well. I've tried unistalling everything, and reinstalling it. Tried installing on a completely different computer as well. Versions (1.6.1-1.6.4) downloaded by the "old" version of the launcher is making the new launcher throw errors when I try to run them. The same happens with 1.6.x installs downloaded with the new launcher.
Version 1.5.x and 1.7.x work just fine. This problem is only regaring version 1.6.x for me.
EDIT: The old version of the launcher (March 2022) downloads and runs 1.6.x just fine. Can't seem to find a way to disable automatic update on the launcher...
