It's still happening! I'm still being kicked out of the game every time I view summer gifts and back onto the home screen. No error message appears which makes me mad.
After the next day, that issue was finally fixed! I got those items from both yesterday and today!

It's actually a Steve skin with the mouth redesigned to be horizontal instead of beard-like. It was made in the character creator.
