Issue still persists through 1.21.3.

It appears that the behavior is unchanged versus 23w42a.

Interesting thing I noticed, is that the issue doesn't appear to be as bad in 22w45a compared to 1.19.2.  Made sure all video settings are identical in both installs, including render distance of 24 chunks; and no mods.  I attached two screenshots from the same single-biome world.  Can't say for sure that the issue is completely fixed, but it's definitely an improvement.

Navigating a mangrove swamp when the weather is set to rain is especially awful, and frankly unplayable.  I attached a screenshot; note that I'm running a high end system with 64GB RAM and a 16GB heap size on both my server and client.  My RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU is capping out as well.  I'm even running Sodium.

They were set to Minimal!  Somehow the setting carried over from my modded 1.18.2 instance.  That's embarrassing...sorry for the false alarm.

Did you reset the previously generated chunks?  If you went to the biome in the prior snapshot and didn't reset the world or those chunks, then of course it will look the same as it did before.  This is not a bug.  I've attached two screenshots; they are of the same mangrove swamp area on my world in 22w14a versus 22w15a.  Note the deeper mud and tweaked tree generation in week 15.

Uploaded "after" screenshots of the two formerly affected areas in 22w15a.  Looks awesome!  Thank you 🙂
