I had that happen too on my Galaxy tab, try writing down the seed and recreating it as another world. It fixed the problem in two worlds I found it on. When they spawn like that it also affects the appearance of some of blocks i.e. windows looking like grass or wool etc. Also in one of the screenshots in the hotbar, what was supposed to be a oak tree sapling showed up as cobblestone.
