I have a similar problem, I have windows 7 and the same error message pops up for me in the console, BUT minecraft NEVER opens up, not even for a second.

I disagree this is a bug with the new Minecraft Launcher, that many people are experiencing.

I have the same problem, wtf MOJANG i want to play minecraft 1.6.1 it just came out today!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!
