Still not working correctly in 1.2.1. I am using a fishing rod with luck of sea 3, unbreaking 3, lure 2 and mending. While fishing the xp is going to my character and not on the fishing. Also, I tried the workaround by having the fishing rod in the main hand while removing smelted/cooked items from the oven. This seems to work only on the first try with the rod. On the second try it did not work anymore. But changing to another place on the hotbar and using this item while removing the items from the oven and then again switching back to the rod and again removing items from the oven while holding the rod did work. But also only once. I could not determine a pattern yet. On the next try I did hold another item in the main hand while removing items from the oven two separate times and then switched back to the fishing rod and again removed items from the oven - mending did work. But the next try again did not work again. As stated above I could not determine a pattern yet.
