The invisible water in cauldrons I think happens if the still water textures are less than a certain percent transparent (less than 50% I think). I have the water fron the Full of Life resource pack, and it is invisible in the cauldrons. Nothing we can do for now but use default textures for the cauldron or get a new resource pack with darker water I think.
