Oh my goodness, I came from a duplicate of this because I'm having the exact same issue. I'm running the server from the same PC I use to play it and it's a private server with my brother and everything basically stops a certain distance away from where I load in. I usually fix it by relogging, but once I went into one of the glitched chunks and when I came out I took about 6 hearts of fall damage even though I had been swimming in water the whole time I was in the chunk. I really hope this bug gets fixed soon.
