I kinda thought cobblestone and mossy walls were not meant to be fences. Unlike wooden fences their model doesn't extend to the top of the block which lead me to believe they weren't intended as a fence. Yes, the corner piece does but that wasn't my point.

@dieval Haven't exactly followed mobs around and haven't noticed any of my farm animals disappearing. So I assume not.

@dell_the_engie Oh, I wasn't seeing dinnerbone appear anywhere and was wondering why you thought it him. I see it now.

I can also verify that this still happens in 1.4.2. I first noticed this as a rare occurrence on bukkit servers in 1.3(.2) don't recall the same in a vanilla server and assumed it was a bukkit bug. With the release of 1.4.2 it is a very common occurrence on vanilla SMP servers while only uncommon in vanilla SSP. It is so random that I can't provide any information other than what is already known.

I find Bunny Hop to be very helpful for getting around. Climbing mountains, escaping ravines and just getting around "bumpy" areas. It does suck that Bunny Hoping in place can cause fall damage. Would make sense logically that if you can jump up 8 blocks your legs would be capable of adsorbing an 8 block fall. They haven't done that and the best we can do is offer it as a suggestion.

This is actually part of the AI update in the 1.4 "Scary Update". Mobs are no longer scared to take some fall damage to reach you. They will consider how much health they have, how many hearts the fall will take then jump if they will land with X hearts left. Not sure what X is or if it changes with difficulty. I want to say around 2 hearts.
