I'm currently experiencing this same problem. The duplications eventually got to such an extreme extent that I killed all of my villagers in a desperate attempt to get the problem and increasing lag to go away. After logging back in later in the day, all of the villagers I had killed were back and more duplicates had arrived on my roof and outside my base as well. It's also moving other mobs in the area, including tamed cats, horses, and player-made iron golems. I'm not completely unable to log in, as is everyone else on our realm. The world is literally unplayable, and it's very disheartening to see this issue continue to be marked as duplicates of other issues that are not the same.
Just a heads up. I'm experiencing the same problem, and the villagers are duplicating every time the chunk loads. I can't go near my base now and if I do, everything freezes and I'm eventually disconnected. Others in the realm who are in the area can't even log in.
