Same issue just happened to me in version 1.8.5. I was boating and fishing at the same time (around like 20 squids) and suddenly I just died with the same message; "WheatleyOS hit the ground too hard". I heard many people throughout about three or four threads talking about this issue and a lot of them also said that it was squids that caused this, although I am not 100% sure of this nor how they came to that conclusion for certain, although I had a feeling too that the squids killed me as a first reaction somehow. (Maybe because I was in a small pond with a couple dozen squids??)
