Is this an exclusive API? I have the same issue as the OP. I have even run the curl example on http://wiki.vg/Mojang_API#Change_Skin and I get the same response.

FVbico it's not a duplicate of MC 33304 because it's not sometimes. Everytime a graphics card other than Intel is used, the colors are faded. Also, the issue is still unresolved when that ticket was created over 2 years ago.
This issue is occurring directly on vanilla minecraft. You can reproduce it yourself by hosting a vanilla server from https://minecraft.net/download and coloring a sign using mojang's own command /blockdata ~ ~ ~ {Text1:"{text:\"hi\",color:yellow}"}
It's time they fix this bug.
Is a fix going to be implement or is this endpoint deprecated?
