Same issue, but with iPad mini 2, iOS 11.4.1 and Minecraft 1.5.1
I have the same problem. My specifications are:
iPad mini 2
iOS 11.4.1
Minecraft 1.5.1
This seems to work. I uninstalled the app and erase everything and now we can play. In iPad mini 2 iOS 11.4.1
